hardwood floor warped due to water damage

The Warped Tour

Here at SERVPRO we try and adapt the restore vs. replace mentality. In some instances, the water has been soaking for too long. In hardwood floors this can cause warping, because of this, this flooring will have to be replaced. The sooner you can get someone restoring your home or business after a loss, the better chance you have of saving your property and belongings. SERVPRO of Southwest Wichita is a 24/7 business, give us a call when disaster strikes (316) 260-9011.

Floor Removal

Our employees are truly how we make things “Like it never even happened.”  During the drying process we want it to be as quick as possible so you can get back to your normal. Some flooring requires removal if it has soaked up too much moisture, as it can cause warping, mold growth, and even deterioration.

Warped Wood

Wet conditions in this commercial building caused warping to happen in the base of the cabinets. Wood warps when the moisture content in the wood changes unevenly. As it starts to dry, one part of the board dries faster than the other, causing the drier area to shrink faster. That causes stress on the wood and can cause it to warp or bend. The faster you find a leak the better chance we can have to dry it and prevent warping wood.

Our Dehumidifiers in Action

Sometimes with large commercial jobs we bring in large buckets to drain the dehumidifier hose. Water damage doesn’t always happen close to drains so we have to be ready for whatever happens. Dehumidifiers can suck up to 125 PPD out of the air a day and that water needs to go somewhere so the dehumidifier pumps its reservoir tank.
